Perhaps my greatest accomplishment in this life has been my kids. They make me so proud every single day. My wife, Lisa, and I have been married for 10 years. We've had the pleasure of raising plenty of furbabies, including the three cats we currently cater to. I am the Associate Professor of History and Chair of my department at ASUN. I am a baker, and I love to read and crochet. My biggest wish is that people just love one another.
I grew up in Jonesboro and graduated from JHS. I am married to Callie, who is also a board member. We have a precious rescue dog named Willy. I work in healthcare administration. My hobbies and interests include hiking, gardening, reading and traveling any and everywhere.
First and foremost, I’m mom to a teen named Tuck, and I love getting to kick it with my kiddo. I’ve also been known to play Barbies and pick tomatoes with my sweet grandbaby. I absolutely adore nature, spending time in my garden, singing, writing, spending time with my friends (and my cats) and learning about anything and everything.
I’m a fierce advocate for mental health & social issues, and I have a huge passion for human rights. I believe that helping each other along our paths with genuine empathy & compassion is the greatest thing we can do.
*I love hiking and traveling, anything outdoors really *I work in healthcare, but my dream job is a national park ranger *I love DIY projects and like to believe I can fix anything as long as there is a YouTube tutorial *I love music and will probably know the words to whatever station you change the radio to, so you can’t get out of that free concert. *Alyssa is the peas to my carrots *I love dogs and would have a hundred bajillion rescues if Alyssa would allow it But most importantly, I love people and believe myself to be an empath. I grew up in rural south GA and know how it feels to be considered “abnormal” and what that can do emotionally and mentally to a person. My hope is that we as the Umbrella can be that safe place for anyone who has been made to feel unloved by people, especially their friends or family. I think I speak for every one of our founders when I say that you are welcome here just as you are.
I am married to Traci Burgess, we have 4 children, 1 granddaughter and a grandson on the way! I am the Culinary Instructor for ASUN and absolutely love my job. Cooking is my passion. I like to be outdoors, campfires and anything nature.
